The Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/450 features the same physical appearance as the Gainward GeForce2 Ti/500 XP VIVO Golden Sample, however this time the card is powered by a GeForce3 Ti 200 chip. Cooling is once again provided to the core via Gainward's agressive looking circular heatsink/fan combination and heat transfer is again taken care of by a properly applied amount of thermal grease. Cooling on the memory chips is also the same, using four of the 8 fin RAMsinks to cover all the memory. The cooling setup kept the Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/450 operating at 127 degrees Fahrenheit, 11 degrees warmer than the coolest GeForce3 Ti 200 in our tests.
The Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/450 also comes with TV-out powered by a Conexant CX25871 video encoder. This chip was the only one that allowed for TV-output up to 1024x768, as all the other video encoders have a maximum resolution of 800x600. The card comes with WinDVD, making DVD playback on your TV from your computer rather painless.
When overclocking, we were able to get the Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/450 up to 250/525MHz; the highest speed of all GeForce3 Ti 200 cards tested. This speed not only matched, but actually bettered the clock speeds of the shipping GeForce3 Ti 500 cards.
