I was really impressed with this router but then I went to their forum and found this:
-- Virtual Servers do not apply « on: January 05, 2014, 04:17:16 PM » Every time I try to add a virtual server to the almond, it brings up the loading confirmation and then after it refreshes nothing has been accepted. Is this a known bug right now or user error? If so what do I need to do to make this work, otherwise I'm going to have to return it.

We're terribly sorry about this, but you're possibly the first customer using it, but it's something I've already highlighted to our software team and they're aware of it. Sadly, I don't have an ETA for when it'll be fixed. http://forum.securifi.com/index.php/topic,252.0.ht...

Wow a route that doesn't route... I don't care what kind of Wifi Z-beans flowers and mustard may that device have...but I guess if you before you sell a router you make it sure it routes... m.
The CS7542 actually helps any vendors wifi chipset since it can do HW offload of bridging and conversion of traffic from a client attached PCIe WifI chipset. While you still have to *add* a wifi chipset versus an integrated baseband one the offload engine allows full rate dual AC throughput. All integrated solutions on the market today do not support that. So this will have higher performance... the best part is, the dual ARM cores are not used at all.... all those MIPS are still available for whatever you want.

Sounds good to me as an Almond+ backer. I'm not too bothered by a couple of month delays if I'm getting better spec product with more refinements.amanpatel - Thursday, January 16, 2014 - link
It would be nice to know if the Almond+ supports "security class" z-wave/zigbee devices (like the Kwikset Locks).ganeshts - Thursday, January 16, 2014 - link
At CES, they said the Schlage locks were working already, and that they are looking into the Kwikset onesamanpatel - Thursday, January 16, 2014 - link
Thanks for checking in to this! It's one of the reasons why I hold AnandTech in such high regard (the Podcast is the other :)).lecaf - Friday, January 17, 2014 - link
